THE LIGHTHOUSE BEGINS TO SHINE
In 1948, the Rev. R. L. Dean arrived in Haliburton with a message and a vision. His message was the message of the cross of Jesus Christ and the promises of God that were made reality because of the cross.
Pastor Dean‘s vision was to start a church that would share the Good News of Jesus Christ throughout the county, ultimately changing lives for all eternity.
It all began with tent meetings, which then led to a church building and the founding of Full Gospel Lighthouse. The Lighthouse has been involved in preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the Haliburton Highlands for all these many years.
While its location and methods have changed over time, the message has never changed. We still believe that the Bible is the Word of God and has an powerful message that will change every life for the better. Pastor Dean’s vision has not diminished. It is our desire to see all living in the village of Haliburton and surrounding areas experience the fullness of God’s promises and live out their lives with purpose and joy.
